Miss
Robinson
Miss Robinson was born in India. She was the daughter of Bishop
John E. Robinson, the eminent missionary from America. Though educated
in America, India was her home. She was Principal for some years
of the Baldwins' Girls' High School, and later, in 1930, founded
the Home School. She was Principal of the school till she passed
away in 1961.
Miss
Robinson contributed greatly to the high standard of the school
and educated generations of children in and around Basavanagudi.
A good and sincere social worker, she visited slum areas regularly
and helped the residents. She served India with singular devotion
and never thought of returning to Amercia.
She
was Headquarters Commissioner for Rangers, Founder and Life President
of the Young Women's Club and Vice-President of the Child Study
Association.

Miss
Donne
Miss Donne was a founder of The Home School. As Superintendent,
she raised the status, strength and discipline of the school. She
was very kind hearted and helped scores of people. The sorrows of
the poor were close to her heart and her goodness to them is well
known. She has a deep fondness for animals and cared for a number
of them.
Miss
Donne was gifted with a fine contralto voice and gave freely of
her services in churches, for concerts and for entertainment of
the troops during the First World War.
Miss
Donne was connected to the Mahila Seva Samaj, the Girl Guide Association,
the Social and Moral Welfare Association and was on the Managing
Boards of several institutions.
