The Times of India - NIE Fest - 21 June 05

118 students from standards 5, 6, 7 registered. Workshops are to be conducted on the first and third Saturday of every month.

'Seeds of Change' Exhibition - 18 July 05

Bharat Soka Gakkai invited our standard 7 students to an exhibition based on the earth charter called 'Seeds of Change'. Two bus loads of children from standards 6 and 7 along with their teachers went to the venue. The Principal arranged transport for the students and teachers.

NIE 'Go Green' - 22 July 05

Two of our students participated in the NIE 'Go Green' activity held at Parachute Regiment School, J.C. Nagar. They were Poorna and Dhruva of standard 7.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami Competition - 6 and 7 August 2005

41 students participated in Painting, Fruit Salad making and Sloka recitation contests at the Acharya Paatha Shaala Public School. The students were mainly form standards 5, 6 and 7. The prize winners in the Painting contest were Harshini Kadokol and Swathi N. from standard 7.

Independence Day - 15 Aug. 05

The national flag was unfurled by the Principal at 9 a.m. This was followed by an excellent pageant 'Freedom Struggle of India' by students of standards 5, 6 and 7.The Headmistress did the narration of the freedom struggle while children enacted with banners and costumes.

An Essay Competition was held for the students of standards 1 to 7. There was wonderful participation and fine books pertaining to Indian themes of freedom fighters were given to the winners. Parents were invited to award the prizes.The prize winners were

Drawing Competition - 29 Aug. 05

A Drawing Competition by Doy Soap for students of LKG, UKG, standards 1, 2 and 3 was held.

Teacher's Day - 5 Aug. 05

Students put up a cultural show for the teachers. A cake was cut by the Principal. Teachers participated in a game organised by the students. The Principal gave hand bags to all the teachers as a special gift.

Gandhi Jayanthi - 2 Oct. 05

On this day, the birthday of the 'Father of the Nation', there was a variety programme in his honour. Songs were sung and short speeches were made by a few teachers and students. Ladoos were distributed to all the students present.

Children's Day - 14 Nov. 05

To mark the Platinum Jubilee, teachers of the Home School performed a variety programme for the students. It consisted of a song sung by Yamuna and Tara D.R., a dance by Janet and Rajlakshmi and a very amusing skit by all the teachers. They acted as standard 7 students do in the classrooom. It had everyone in splits.

NIE Fun Fest - 18 Nov. 05

25 students from the Home School participated in Group Dance, Story Writing, Painting and Vegetable Carving contests. Shreyas of standard 7 won the First Prize in the Painting contest, a troupe comprising of Sunil Cavale, Divya, Nidhi, Veena and Pavan from standard 6, Pranav and Chetan from standard 4 and Sheena from standard 5 won the Third Prize in the Group Dance contest.

Mattel National School Scrabble Championship - 19 Nov. 05

Dhruva, Madhusudan, Manohar Rao, Anurag R.S. and Swathi M. participated. It was held at the Sacred Heart Boys High School.

Christmas Tree - 24 Dec. 2005

The Principal and staff take special care to make every Christmas a merry and memorable day for the students of the Home School. There was a festive atmosphere everywhere with decorations and a big Christmas tree with gaily coloured ornaments. Santa, whose arrival had been eagerly anticipated by the children, came early in the morning. He sang carols and danced with the tiny tots, then gave away Christmas gifts to every child, the teachers and the staff. The children were then served snacks.

In the afternoon, it was the turn of the Middle school children to have their party. The rib-tickling jokes made by Santa had everyone in splits. The children sang carols to the accompaniment of the piano and danced with Santa. A merry time was had by one and all. Santa gave each child a Christmas gift and they had snacks arranged for by the school. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day for every student, teacher, staff member and the special invitees of the Home School.

Students Association for Road Safety

Painting Competition on Traffic Safety - 4 Jan. 06

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic East, organised an on-the-spot Painting Competition on Traffic Safety at the Cubbon Park. The participants from the Home School were Rumaan Mecci of standard 4, Tanisha of standard 5, Shreyas of standard 7 and Sunil Cavale of standard 3.

Essay Competition - 5 Jan. 06

The participants were Abhishek Shetty of standard 5 and Akash N. of standard 5.

March Past - 4, 5, 6 Jan. 06

23 girls from standards 5, 6 and 7 participated.

Republic Day - 26 Jan. 06

A Fancy Dress Competition was organised for the students by the Home School. The theme was 'Our National Leaders'. There were approximately 20 participants from each class. Prizes were given to the First, Second and Third positions from each class along with a Consolation Prize. Pedas were distributed to all present.
